The Granary Access statement

Introduction

The Granary is a stone cottage, part of Felin Carrog a 19th century former corn mill, providing guest accommodation on a ‘Self Catering’ basis.

The nature of the building dictates some accessibility constraints and the following statement will provide more details. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further details.

Pre-Arrival

We are in a rural location and the use of a car is strongly recommended for our guests

The nearest train station is at Aberystwyth approximately 7 miles distant

Taxis can be found at the station but require booking for outward journeys from The Granary

Due to the nature of the building we advise that guests with mobility or visual impairments are accompanied during their stay

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

There is a house name sign at the entrance to the drive, and on the front of The Granary

The parking area is located at the rear of the property

To reach the cottage from the parking area there are four steps up into the house

There are sensor lights around the parking area and the garden

Main Entrance

There are two doors into the cottage, the upper door is 90cm wide and the ground floor door is 70cm wide

Audible smoke detectors are located in the cottage

Complimentary internet access is available in the cottage

Living accommodation

There is a 3 seater sofa and a 2 seater sofa and a Freesat smart television

The dining table can cater for 4 people

There is a log burner for the winter months

The floor is laminate

The kitchen and living room are all open plan and the bedrooms and bathroom are accessed down the stairs

Kitchen

There is an Induction hob which should not be used by guests with pacemakers

The kitchen is fully equipped and also has a washer/dryer

The floor is laminate

There is a torch provided in the kitchen for emergency use

Laundry

There is a washer / dryer, ironing board, iron and drying rack in the cottage

Bedrooms

Rooms have centrally operated ceiling lights and bedside lights

The floors are laminate

The double room has a door 74cms wide and has Freesat TV, a hairdryer a standard double bed with access from both sides. The room also has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside tables

The single room has a door 74cms wide and has a standard single bed with access from one side, a bedside table, a tallboy chest of drawers and a hanging rail

Bathroom

There is a lock on the bathroom door

The bathroom has a door 74cms wide

The bathroom has a laminate floor

The bath has a 56cm high side

There is a separate cubicle shower

The toilet has a height of 45cm

It should be noted that sanitary items, plastic or rubber items, wet wipes, cotton wool etc.. must not be disposed of down the
toilet

Garden

The Granary has an enclosed garden, with lawned area and seating area with garden furniture

A footpath leads from the front of the property into the surrounding countryside

Additional Information

There are two doors from which to evacuate the building

The cottage is non-smoking throughout

Mobile phone reception is variable

We aim to be available for our guests as much as possible and are happy to advise on local attractions and facilities

Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and a crate can be supplied on request
